Dental laboratory tests
At Medicare Dentistry, we offer a wide range of treatments from simple tooth filling (aesthetic, inlay, onlay) and root canal treatment (traditional, laser) to tooth whitening, prosthesis, dentures, and dental implants.
Our specialists use only quality materials and modern methods to carry out treatments. Our crowns are made of porcelain (metal-ceramic), pressed ceramic or zirconium, while our implants are made of titanium.
During the procedures, our bodies encounter a number of foreign substances that can trigger an immune response. Therefore, any complaints that may arise from dental treatments such as implants or root canal treatment may be due to an allergic reaction of the body, not to poor quality work of the dentist.
In the case of allergies, the immune system reacts to the materials used in dental procedures by producing antibodies and an immune response that makes the implantation and treatment less effective.
To detect the different immune responses after dental treatments, we were among the first in Hungary to develop the following laboratory tests:
- RANTES test, CCL5 chemokine determination
- Hypersensitivity to mercaptans and thioethers
- Special allergy LTT test for dental metals, ceramics and cement
- DNA analysis of periodontitis-associated microbes, oral microbiome test
- Titanium sensitivity test
RANTES test, CCL5 chemokine determination
In case of oral lesions with inflammatory processes associated with jaw bone loss, measurement of the chemokine CCL5 may be important. The measurement of CCL5 has a prominent role in the differentiation of bone loss from various causes.
Hypersensitivity to mercaptans and thioethers
The mercaptans and thioethers hypersensitivity test is only available at Medicare Hospital and sampling is only possible on Tuesday mornings.
During a root canal treatment, even the most skilled dentists cannot completely remove the remaining tissue and microorganisms from the root canal. The hypersensitivity test to mercaptans and thioethers can be used to detect the local, oral cavity-derived cause of systemic inflammation in addition to other tests (e.g. high-sensitivity imaging).
Special allergy LTT test for dental metals, ceramics and cement
The special allergy LTT test for dental metals, ceramics and cement is available only at Medicare Hospital, sampling is only possible on Tuesday mornings.
Fillers used during root canal treatment, such as metals, ceramics and cement can be potential allergens. After a dental treatment, if you develop a rash on the mouth and face, periodontitis or a rash on any part of the body, experience fatigue, sleep problems, muscle and joint pain, headaches, migraines, and sometimes autoimmune symptoms, you should suspect an allergy caused by dental treatment materials.
DNA analysis of periodontitis-associated microbes, oral microbiome test
The treatment of periodontitis can be greatly assisted by the analysis of the microbes that cause inflammation. In many cases, it can be important to identify the bacteria that cause periodontitis: it is possible to identify areas of greater tissue damage, simplify the selection of appropriate antibiotic therapy and monitor the healing process.
Titanium sensitivity test
The titanium sensitivity test is only available at Medicare Hospital, sampling is only possible on Tuesday mornings.
Unlike metals, titanium very rarely causes allergic reactions. Adverse reactions caused by titanium are due to the reaction of oxidised titanium particles formed after implantation. These particles can trigger inflammatory reactions in the implant environment which, in severe cases, can lead to the loss of the implant.
