ABPM (24 hour blood pressure measurement)
One possible diagnostic test for cardiology is the 24-hour blood pressure measurement, the ABPM test. The patient is given a device that automatically measures and records the pressure on the blood vessel wall at specific times throughout the day.
You can go on with your daily activities during the measurements. It is also a good idea to keep an event log during the ABPM measurement, which should record what happened during the 24 hours. When you experienced more stress, had any complaints, or when you did strenuous physical work.

The evaluation takes place within the framework of a medical consultation after the data have been recorded on a computer. ABPM can show persistent increases in blood pressure, monitor existing antihypertensive therapy, monitor blood pressure spikes, and how these values develop during sleep.
