If you would like to find a gentle, holistic approach to your musculoskeletal complaints and pains<\/strong>, which will save you from the side effects of painkillers (e.g. stomachache, kidney and liver damage), then medical acupuncture can be an excellent method for you.<\/p>\n

Medical acupuncture can help reduce pain without medication and unpleasant or dangerous side effects<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span> You do not have to be afraid of acupuncture needles either,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0these are specially developed, very thin needles, the insertion of which is typically painless or involves only mild, hardly noticeable discomfort.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In some cases, medical acupuncture is an independent therapeutic option, but it can also be used as an additional treatment alongside Western healing therapies.<\/span><\/span> It can be well combined, for example, with musculoskeletal collagen therapy.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

How does acupuncture work?<\/h2>\n\t

Acupuncture is a thousands-year-old Eastern healing technique, a holistic diagnostic and therapeutic procedure.<\/span><\/span> It is a complex treatment that aims to restore the body’s physiological balance.<\/span><\/span> The basis of Chinese medicine is the idea that energy channels (meridians) run through the human body, in which the „qi” \/”chi”\/ (life energy) flows freely in case of healthy functioning.<\/span><\/span> Diseases are caused when this flow is disrupted.<\/span><\/span> During the treatments, by using special needles through the acupuncture points, these energy blocks can be released, and we harmonize the energy flow, promoting healing, thus alleviating the symptoms of diseases.<\/span><\/span> The scientific explanation for this is partly realized through the network of neural pathways and their connections with stimulation points, on the other hand pain-relieving endorphins are produced as a result of acupuncture, and the metabolism and self-regeneration capacity of cells increases.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

      Apart from haemophilia, there are no general contraindications to medical acupuncture, but in some cases individual consideration may be required to determine whether it is appropriate. This will be discussed during the consultation.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

      The treatment<\/h2>\n\t

      After disinfecting the skin, very thin (0.18-0.25 mm thick), single-use sterile medical needles are inserted into the skin at the appropriate depth, using a maximum of 15 needles per treatment (but much fewer can be used). The treatment is typically painless; in addition to the fine needle pricks, it can cause mild strain, tingling, or warmth and electricity sensation in the treated area or spread out throughout the body.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

      The treatments are administered as a course of treatment and no foreign substances are introduced into the body. A course of full-body acupuncture usually consists of\u00a010-12 treatments<\/strong>\u00a0(more severe, chronic cases may require significantly more), which are recommended\u00a02 times a week<\/strong>. For auricular (ear) acupuncture, the treatment course can be significantly shorter. In some cases, 1 treatment per week or per month may be recommended as a maintenance treatment.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n
