In general, it is also produced by healthy cells, but is also increased to a greater extent in tumour cells. The protein is not the cause of cancer, it is only present in cancerous cells.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid shape_divider_top-none shape_divider_bottom-none\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-6 sc_layouts_column_icons_position_left\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2 style=\"color: #0e1b8d;text-align: left\" class=\"vc_custom_heading\" >What is the purpose of the test?<\/h2>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The test cannot be used as a screening test because it is not sensitive enough for the early detection of breast cancer. It is primarily suitable for monitoring treatment and detecting possible recurrence of the disease. From the results of the CA 15-3 test, it can be concluded whether the patient has metastasis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Monitoring of treatment with the help of the test usually does not start at the beginning of therapy, because in this case, there may be an increase, decrease or temporary fluctuation. Elevated value indicates the worsening of the disease.
