Because of the mutation, the protein chain of activated coagulation factor V cannot be broken down by an enzyme called activated protein C (APC). Due to the slowing down of the breakdown of coagulation factors, the patient&#8217;s blood clots are more coagulated and therefore prone to thrombosis.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<h2 style=\"color: #0e1b8d;text-align: left\" class=\"vc_custom_heading bold\" >In which cases is it recommended to perform the test?<\/h2>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">In case of recurrent thrombosis or embolism<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">After thrombosis at a young age<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">If thrombosis occurs in an unusual place (lower limb, deep veins)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to a frequent thrombotic event (familial
