Cervical cancer is usually caused by certain types of HPV (human papilloma virus) that enter the body with sexual contact. Of the more than one hundred known types, we distinguish between low-risk (LR) and high-risk (HR) viruses.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

What is HPV and why is it important to be screened?<\/h2>\n\t

The HPV 29 test is based on the detection of the E6\/E7 viral oncogenes, which allows the highest possible sensitivity. Thanks to subtype-specific primer systems and fluorescent probes, the HPV test allows the detection and typing of all 29 listed genital HPV types in a single test. Among the known HR HPVs, the newly emerging HR HPV 67 serotype is also included in our test.<\/p>\n

The HPV test is particularly suitable for diagnostic analyses performed within the framework of HPV screening. Compared to other molecular biological methods for HPV detection using Real Time PCR technology, it is extremely easy to perform \u2013 no in-depth molecular biological knowledge is required. The evaluation, interpretation and archiving of the results are fully automated, making it highly standardized and objective.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

How does the test go?<\/h2>\n\t

During HPV screening, the patient is comfortably seated in the examination chair in a relaxed position with their legs pulled up after removing their underwear. After excavation of the vagina, the gynaecologist takes a secretion sample (smear) from the surface of the cervix and the initial section of the cervical canal with a special sampler (brush), which is later placed in a liquid where the PCR test is performed.<\/p>\n

HPV standardization identifies the type of HPV virus infection (low and\/or high risk) in the patient.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t
