Hair loss is greatly influenced by hereditary factors, hair loss may occur in postmenopausal women, but more serious diseases, such as thyroid and gynaecological problems, can also cause the complaint. Occasionally, hair loss can occur as a side effect of a medicine, in the form of inflammatory processes in the body (inflammation of the teeth or gums), a fungal infection of the scalp, or a lack of vitamins and minerals.<\/p>\n

The hormone that stimulates the production of red blood cells is the erythropoietin, which is produced by the kidneys.
