The cardiological examination begins with the recording of medical history. The specialist asks the patient about previous illnesses, surgeries, family diseases, and current complaints.<\/p>\n

This is followed by a physical examination, which first assesses the presence of visible signs of heart problems: shortness of breath, bluish discoloration of the skin and nails in certain areas, or edema, especially on the legs.<\/p>\n

ECG shows the electrical activity of the heart, using\u00a0electrodes\u00a0placed on the skin to detect the small electrical changes. The ECG curve is displayed on paper or a monitor.<\/p>\n

The heart muscle contracts at each beat and emits electrical signals. These signals can be accurately captured with electrodes, placed at specific points on the chest.<\/p>\n

Based on the shape, protrusions, or flattening of the ECG curve (electrocardiogram), the cardiologist could conclude of certain diseases.<\/p>\n

Cardiac ultrasound is an imaging procedure in which a moving image of the functioning heart is obtained. Its aim is to study the anatomy of the heart and large blood vessels, to observe the function of the four ventricles, to determine the blood flow parameters with high accuracy, detect myocardial lesions, valvular heart diseases, pericardial fluid, tissue proliferation, and heart septum deficiency.<\/p>\n

Cardiac ultrasound can also be used to detect scarring after a heart attack, disturbances in muscle movement, valvular heart disease, abnormal blood flow between the heart cavities, fluid that has accumulated in the pericardium, or a blood clot in the heart cavities.<\/p>\n

Ultrasound is a painless imaging procedure that has no harmful side effects on the human body.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
