Ultrasound is an essential tool for the examination of the two lobes of the thyroid and the parathyroid. With the help of ultrasound, small changes in the thyroid gland can also be observed, we can also accurately determine the size, shape and structure of the thyroid, but nodular lesions, inflammations and cysts can also be seen. Ultrasound also plays an important role in the diagnostics of the thyroid and parathyroid, as well as in the examination of the soft tissues of the neck<\/a>, the large salivary glands and cervical lymph nodes.<\/p>\n

How is the thyroid ultrasound performed?<\/h2>\n\t

The patient lies on his back during the painless ultrasound examination by placing a pillow under his shoulder in order for the neck to stretch well. The test is performed without outerwear to protect its integrity.
